When I Can't Sleep at Night

It's late. You're finally on the jet back home to Quantico after a long case.
You're laying on the couch, curled up so your feet aren't on the ground. Finally. The warm droning of the jet engines lull you into a state of safety and rest. You hold your jacket in a bundle to your chest.
Your head lays against Spencer's thigh. He's playing chess with Gideon. The pieces are moved on the travel board, creating small metallic clicks as the magnets attach.
"Check." Spencer's voice is quiet, aware of the other agents trying to recuperate from this case. His hand reaches down to stroke your hair, down to your shoulder, then back again.
"Mate. Let's go again." You can almost hear the smile in Jason's voice. He's having fun. Spencer retracts his hand to help set up the board once more. He leans against his seat while he thinks, his fingers making their way back to your hair, stroking it while he thinks. You sigh, and Spencer takes off his tweed jacket to lay over you. His scent is strong, made up of coffee and his sweat. It isn't a bad smell, it's recognizable and soothing.
Somewhere in your mind you remember that this flight is only three more hours long, but for now, you're eternally comfortable, safe, and warm.
