Pi and Richard Parker, his tiger, are hiding away in the small lifeboat during a storm. The wind picks up and throws waves against the side of the boat, while thunder cracks in the background. Richard Parker is visibly seasick due to all the commotion and can be heard growling and expressing his discomfort.
