It's late, and the warehouse turned temporary living quarters is dark. Shatter occupies herself with files on her datapad, huge blocks of text being reflected by her half-lidded optics. You sit in her lap, resting your head against her chest. She has her free hand wrapped protectively around your middle, and it was the safest you had felt in what seemed like forever. A song plays. You can't tell where it comes from. And honestly, you didn't care.
