Abhorsen Trilogy - Sabriel
The waterfall rages distantly beyond the tall white walls of Abhorsen's home. A tiny island between two fingers of rushing water, but safe from the dead - for now, at least. You sit and study THE BOOK OF THE DEAD, despite its ever-changing pages, and write down the things you think you need in order to survive the next night when you are not so safe. A white cat sleeps on the floor beside you. The Charter sendings move about the halls doing their chores. What will you do with your evening of study, Abhorsen?
